Alcatel-Lucent Cellular Extension is a fixed mobile convergence (FMC) solution that helps businesses to empower their mobile workforce, by enabling the integration of mobiles phones into the corporate communication server.
Ideal for mobile workers, Cellular Extension provides access to corporate telephony services at a distance and simplifies communication with customers. This solution controls cost while optimizing the management of mobility.
Cellular extension is a software-based application. The simple installation of Cellular Extension client on a mobile device enables integration with the OmniPCX IP communication server. Once installed, the software recognizes any mobile phone as an extension of this server. Because infrastructure and telephone devices are already in place, Cellular Extension means minimal additional investment:
no extra hardware, no major changes in infrastructure, no dedicated link to mobile carrier network.
Alcatel-Lucent Cellular Extension is activated with one license per user. The client software is then installed in each user's device, providing a menu-driven interface to access corporate services.
Cellular Extension may be activated in any of the following devices:
PDA/GSM, SIM-card-based phone, Windows-based phone, Smartphone, Symbian mobile phone.
Cellular Extension can be associated with softphone applications (PC-assisted telephony) to benefit from additional features: display and control incoming Cellular Extension calls, edit call log, access corporate directory with call-by-name, consult corporate voice mail..
